Where a time recording system or procedure is used, you must comply with such system or procedure. BEP Appointments reserves the right, without prejudice to any other right it may have, to make an appropriate pro rata reduction in the amount of remuneration with regard to poor timekeeping or absence without permission. In addition, disciplinary action may also be taken against you.

Absence reporting - If you are absent from work, (except by prior written arrangement) for whatever reason, you must notify your Manager or BEP Appointments prior to your normal commencement time of work on the first day of absence (or if that is impossible) as soon thereafter as is reasonably practicable. For periods of uncertified sickness, you should notify your Manager or BEP Appointments on a daily basis. Ensure that BEP Appointments is aware of the reason for your absence and its expected duration. You will not normally be paid for absences other than as laid down in these rules. In extenuating circumstances, payments may be made at the discretion of BEP Appointments in consultation with the relevant Manager. Failure to comply with any or all of the requirements for the notification of absence will be regarded as absence from work without authorisation, and may result in loss of sickness benefit or may be considered as unpaid leave. It may in any event, lead to disciplinary action being taken against you.

If as a result of being incapacitated you are unable to telephone, you must arrange for someone else to do so at the earliest opportunity. All periods of uncertified sickness or injury are paid at the entire discretion of BEP Appointments.(b) If your period of absence/sickness continues beyond three consecutive days (including weekends or days when you are not roistered to work), you are required to obtain a medical certificate. The certificate must be forwarded as soon as possible to BEP Appointments to ensure that there is no delay in processing your claim. Confirmation of your continuing illness and certificates covering each week of your absence must be sent to BEP Appointments without delay. Further letters and certificates are required for each week of continuing absence.(c) Continued absence from work for medical reasons, particularly apparently unrelated periods of illness, could result in BEP Appointments exercising the right to request a medical examination.(d) On returning to work (after an absence of between one and seven days) a self certification absence form must be completed and signed by you and your Manager(e) Failure to comply with any or all of the requirements for the notification of absence, consultation or certification by a doctor, will be regarded as absence from work without authorisation, and result in loss of sickness benefit.
